I'm A Celebrity to be moved to Scotland this year?

ITV is reportedly working on a "Plan B" to stage this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in the UK should travel to Australia become impractical due to coronavirus.

ITV is said to be working on a back-up plan to stage this year's edition of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in the UK should the coronavirus crisis take a fresh turn for the worse.

As it stands the new series is on track to go ahead on Australia's Gold Coast this November, although contestants will be required to fly out to the country two weeks early and undergo a mandatory period of quarantine under current Aussie government guidelines.

Social distancing measures are gradually being reduced in the UK with the number of coronavirus cases having fallen sharply, although with no vaccine yet available and winter approaching, there are fears that a second wave could sweep the globe in the months ahead.

According to The Mirror, ITV is preparing a "Plan B" for I'm A Celebrity should travel to Australia become impractical, with venues in Scotland and remote areas of England being considered.

"Having I'm A Celebrity for three weeks in November is seen as a huge priority," a source told the newspaper.

"Everyone hopes to get back to Australia but over there they are struggling massively with flare-ups resulting in second lock-downs. It simply may not be possible because of safety.

"A decision needs to be made next month – in the meantime, the team is looking at stately homes, castles, mansions in remote areas of Scotland and England to see if we could stage it here.

"A dark, cold and spooky version of the show would be good fun – it would certainly be different."

Celebrities linked with appearing on this year's show include Jessie J, Paul Merson, Lucy Fallon, Charles Ingram and Carole Baskin.
