Richard Madeley has been taken to hospital in Wales after suffering a "medical emergency" early this morning, ITV has confirmed.
The TV presenter, 65, is one of 12 celebrities currently taking part in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! at Gwrych Castle in North Wales.
According to various reports, Madeley suffered a sudden medical issue just before 6am this morning and was taken straight to A&E as a precaution.
"Richard was unwell in the early hours and was immediately seen by our on-site medical team," said an ITV spokesperson. "He's since been taken to hospital as a precaution. The health and safety of our campmates is our priority."
A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed: "We were called at 05.43am this morning, Thursday 25 November 2021, to reports of a medical emergency at Gwrych Castle in Abergele, Conwy.
"We sent a paramedic in a rapid response car and an emergency ambulance to the scene, and one patient was taken to hospital."
Further updates about Madeley's condition are expected during tonight's episode of I'm A Celebrity at 9pm on ITV.
