ITV has confirmed that The Voice will conclude with the semi-final and final episodes later this month.
The long-running singing contest was forced to come off the air in March due to the coronavirus pandemic but now production has been given the go-ahead to resume - albeit with some major changes.
For the first time the semi-final and the final will be pre-recorded and there will be no public votes, with the four judges each picking a contestant to go through to the final before a virtual audience of viewers is then given the responsibility of crowning the winner.
Meghan Trainor is in the US and will not be travelling to the UK for the episodes and will instead appear virtually from LA, superimposed onto her judging chair.
"I'm so sorry that I can't travel and be there in person for the end of Season 9," said Trainor. "I'm excited that the show is finally back and I will be there virtually to support my incredible team!"
A special recap show will air on ITV later this month ahead of the semi-final and final, while the entire series to date has been made available on the ITV Hub.
