Jaida Essence Hall has been crowned the winning queen on the season 12 finale of RuPaul's Drag Race.

In an episode that was filmed entirely in isolation, the final three queens - Jaida, Crystal Methyd and Gigi Goode - faced off with their own choreographed routines from home.

Gigi performed a personalised version of A-ha's iconic 'Take On Me' video, Crystal became a bird for a Nelly Furtado classic and Jaida writhed around her living room to Ciara's 'Get Up'.

Ru then announced that all three would progress to the final lip-synch battle, Destiny's Child's 'Survivor', before declaring Jaida the winner.

Asked for her reaction, Jaida said: "I would like to say, if you can't love yourself, how in the hell can you - LOOK OVER THERE!"

The episode also saw country legend Dolly Parton make a guest appearance in a comedy sketch with Nina West, who then went on to name Heidi N Closet as this year's Miss Congeniality.

In a further twist, Nina announced that in recognition of the unconventional end to the season, all of the queens would be rewarded with a $2000 tip each.

With season 12 wrapped, attention now turns to the new season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, which begins next Friday.
