Jonathan Ross's wife Jane Goldman is said to be in "advanced talks" to appear on this year's edition of Strictly Come Dancing.
Producers are considering radical changes to the format to enable the show to go ahead this year in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, including axing live studio audiences, the iconic Blackpool week and group dances.
Goldman, 49, is an established screenwriter, having co-written films including X-Men: First Class, Kick-Ass and the Kingsman movies in recent years, and according to The Sun is a "shoo-in" to join the lineup.
"Jane is one of the names at the top of the list for this year's show," a source told the newspaper. "She has told friends she would love to have a whirl on the dancefloor.
"Jane knows Craig Revel Horwood, who's a judge on the show, and he has encouraged her to give it a whirl. Jane is a huge name in her own right and she's co-written huge Hollywood films. To have her on board would be brilliant.
"Contracts won't be worked up until later in the summer. But Jane is very keen and it looks like her diary will be clear for her to take part in the show."
Other names in the frame include RuPaul Charles, Michelle Keegan and Catherine Tate.
