Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is allegedly determined to bring Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers to Old Trafford this summer.

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly determined to bring Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers to Old Trafford, but the Red Devils would face major competition for his signature.

The England international has been in outstanding form for Villa during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 14 goals and registering 12 assists in 46 appearances in all competitions.

Rogers has eight goals and eight assists in 31 Premier League appearances, while he has managed four goals and three assists in 11 Champions League outings during an excellent campaign for the playmaker.

Manchester City are believed to be interested in their former youngster, while it is understood that Liverpool are considering making a move for the 22-year-old to boost their attack for next season.

According to Fichajes, Man United are also in the hunt for his signature, with the club's head coach Amorim believed to have identified him as a priority signing during the upcoming market.

The report claims that an offer of £69m has already been submitted to Villa, with the Red Devils looking to put a deal in place before this summer's transfer window opens for business.

Man United 'launch £69m bid for Rogers'

Villa head coach Unai Emery allegedly considers Rogers to be 'untouchable', while it is understood that an offer from Man City has already been rejected.

However, Man United are said to be prepared to put all of their efforts into securing a move for the Englishman, who started his professional career with West Bromwich Albion after making the breakthrough from the youth set-up.

Rogers joined Man City in August 2019, but he did not make a single first-team appearance for the Citizens, spending time out on loan with Lincoln City, Bournemouth and Blackpool before joining Middlesbrough in 2023.

The attacker made a strong impression for Boro in the first half of the 2023-24 campaign before Villa moved to sign him in February 2024, and he has gone from strength to strength during his time at Villa Park.

Rodgers has a record of 17 goals and 13 assists in 62 matches for Villa, and he has shown his class in the Premier League and Champions League during the 2024-25 campaign.

Is a move for Rogers realistic this summer?

If Villa are able to secure more Champions League football for next season, then it is incredibly difficult to imagine Rogers leaving, but if that is not the case, and Man United win the Europa League, then the situation would become interesting.

Villa are a very attractive club at this moment in time, but they are not Man United, even taking into account the latter's strugglers.

Rogers is the type of player that the Red Devils should be targeting, but a lot of things would have to fall into place for the move to become possible, while it is likely that Amorim's side would have to pay significantly more than £69m for him.
