Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Piero Hincapie during this summer's transfer window.
The 23-year-old has been in strong form for Leverkusen during the 2024-25 campaign, making 39 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and registering two assists in the process.
In total, Hincapie has turned out for his current team on 158 occasions, scoring seven goals and registering five assists, and he has a contract with the reigning German champions until the summer of 2029.
The Ecuador international is expected to be on the move during the summer market, though, with a number of clubs, including Liverpool, believed to be admirers of Hincapie.
Liverpool are thought to view the South American as a possible replacement for Virgil van Dijk, with the Netherlands international still not signing a new contract at Anfield despite enjoying another excellent season.

Hincapie 'emerges' as summer transfer target for Man United
However, according to Fichajes, there is also serious interest from Man United, with the Red Devils believed to be willing to pay the €50m (£42.5m) release clause that exists in his contract.
The report claims that Real Madrid are also keen on Hincapie, with Los Blancos potentially making a move for him if the club are unable to sign Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth.
Hincapie is said to be happy at Leverkusen, but he would allegedly be interested in speaking to major clubs during the summer transfer window, with Man United, Liverpool and Real Madrid all failing into that category.
The defender made the move to the Black and Reds from Talleres in 2021, and he has represented the club on 158 occasions, scoring seven goals and registering five assists in the process.

Do Man United need to sign a new centre-back this summer?
Man United are well-stocked when it comes to their centre-back options, with Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Ayden Heaven, Victor Lindelof, Noussair Mazraoui and Jonny Evans in the current group.
However, Lindelof and Evans are both expected to leave on free transfers when their contracts expire, while there is also speculation surrounding Maguire's future, with the Englishman said to be available for the right price.
Martinez is out for the remainder of the year with a serious knee injury, while Mazraoui largely plays as a wing-back for the Red Devils, so there is expected to be space for a new centre-back to arrive this summer.
At €50m (£42.5m), Hincapie would represent a bargain, and Man United should not pass up the chance to move for a player of his ilk this summer.
