Tottenham Hotspur reportedly make contact over a potential move to sign Brentford forward Yoane Wissa before the end of the transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made contact over a potential deal to sign Brentford forward Yoane Wissa.

Ange Postecoglou is looking for new additions to bolster his injury-hit squad before the transfer window shuts on Monday.

The North London club require more depth to cope with a significant injury list and the demands of competing in four competitions.

Spurs have been linked with a number of potential targets, including a potential move for Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel.

However, they also seem willing to look a lot closer to home in a bid to strengthen Postecoglou's attacking options.

Spurs make contact over Wissa deal

According to Foot Mercato, Tottenham are eyeing a move to sign Wissa from Brentford before the February 3 deadline.

The report claims that already made contact with the Bees as well as the player's camp to express their interest in his signature.

Wissa, a DR Congo international, would add to Tottenham's forward options which include Richarlison and Dominic Solanke, although the latter could be out until March with a knee injury.

He has seemingly caught Tottenham's attention with his impressive form this season, having scored 11 goals in 20 Premier League appearances for Thomas Frank's side.

Will Brentford sanction Wissa's departure?

Brentford have already had to fend off interest for Wissa, having rejected a £22m bid from Nottingham Forest earlier this month.

When asked about the Forest links, Frank told talkSPORT: "I just want to say good luck to them, because it's not going to happen."

Taking Frank's comments into account, it seems unlikely that Brentford will allow one of their most prized assets to leave before the transfer window shuts.

However, the Bees may reconsider their stance if they are presented with a significant offer, especially as Wissa has entered the final 18 months of his contract.
