Lord Sugar has shocked the candidates with an unexpected triple firing on The Apprentice.
For this year’s ‘corporate away days’ task, the candidates were flown to Egypt and challenged to put on a day of activities and team-bonding for corporate clients.
Leading Team Eclipse was Megan Ruiter, who has experience managing 25 events and decided to take her clients on a lagoon tour, while heading up Team Alpha was account manager Priyesh Bathia, who selected a tour through the desert.

Both teams struggled with their respective tours – especially with the timing and quality of their meal offerings – and both corporate clients demanded refunds afterwards.
Priyesh’s Alpha took in $2800 and spent $1803, but the client wanted a 20% refund, leaving the team with a profit of just $437.
Things were much worse for Megan’s Eclipse, however, as despite taking in $3200 and spending $1890, the unhappy clients were only prepared to pay 50%, leaving the team with a net loss of $290.

Megan opted to bring back Carrington Saunders, blaming her for the poor quality of the starter during the meal, as well as Andrea Cooper for interrupting Kieran McCartney’s negotiation with the corporate client.
Lord Sugar listened to the ladies’ arguments as to why they should be kept in the process but ultimately decided to fire all three of them, rapid-fire.
“I have to consider an overall picture of things,” he began. “Listening to this tale of woe, I’m losing confidence quite frankly in all three of you. People [were] making really, really big mistakes. The biggest mistake is that you took on this task, Megan, on the basis that you are experienced and have done corporate events. For that reason Megan, I’ve got to tell you, you are fired.”
Turning to the others, he continued: “Carrington, I’m not satisfied with your explanations – you’re also fired. And you [Andrea], I don’t like people who are negative so you’re fired also.”
The Apprentice continues next Thursday at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer with a task that will challenge the candidates to develop virtual reality fitness games.
