Alfie Watts for Race Across The World / BBC
The BBC has announced that the upcoming new series of Race Across The World will be accompanied by a video podcast spinoff.
Called Race Across The World: The Detour, the show will be hosted by Celebrity Race Across The World winner Scott Mills and will also feature series four winner Alfie Watts, who is now a top travel blogger on social media.
The programme promises to be the main show’s “younger, wilder sibling, charting the ups and downs of the upcoming series” and is likely to feature additional scenes and behind-the-scenes footage.
Each week Mills will be joined by comedians, travel creators and celebrity fans who will “dissect destinations, swap tales of adventure and celebrate the real life stories and unforgettable journeys” of the show.
New episodes will be released weekly on iPlayer and BBC Sounds immediately after each episode airs on BBC One.
The sixth series of Race Across The World is expected to launch next month.
