Giovanni Pernice for Strictly Come Dancing 2020 / BBC
Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice has revealed that he will release his autobiography in August.
The 35-year-old was a key part of the show for nine series but quit in 2024 after allegations from multiple past celebrity partners, including the actress Amanda Abbington, about his training methods.
Pernice, who has always denied any wrongdoing, took to social media to announce his book release and hinted that in it he will tell his side of the story about his Strictly departure.
He wrote on Instagram: “I’m so excited to let you all know that I have a book coming out this year, my memoir; Gio: My Story.
“It’s my chance to share the journey that took me from Sicily to Strictly Come Dancing, the highs, the challenges and everything in between. I’m incredibly grateful for the experiences I’ve had and the people who’ve supported me along the way, and I’m proud to finally tell my story.
“My Story is available to pre-order now, including some signed copies, via the link in my bio.
“I can’t wait to hear what you think, and I really hope you enjoy it.”
Gio: My Story is due out on August 27, 2026.
