Nadiya Bychkova for Strictly Come Dancing 2025 / BBC
Nadiya Bychkova has reportedly been offered a role as a choreographer on Strictly Come Dancing after being axed as a pro dancer.
The show is undergoing a major revamp this year, with new hosts being brought in to replace Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly alongside a whole flurry of new professional dancers.
Bychkova is one of seven dancers thought to have been axed by producers, but according to The Sun, she has been given the chance to remain part of the team helping to choreograph routines.
A source told the newspaper: “Nadiya is so recognisable with viewers and bosses felt it would be a real loss to lose her from the Strictly family altogether. After a few conversations, they offered her a choreography role which she is very open to.
“Obviously, she is sad to no longer be dancing but recognises she will have great scope for more lucrative commercial opportunities now, and can explore exciting new projects.”
Posting on Instagram, Bychkova hinted that she would be staying part of the show, describing her role as “evolving”.
She told fans: “This isn’t the end… I look forward to being part of the Strictly world for many years to come in ways I will always be grateful for.
“I’m excited to have time to focus on new projects, and to spend more precious time with my beautiful daughter. Life feels full of possibilities.
“I danced before Strictly, I loved dancing on the show and I plan to keep dancing for many years to come.”
Further announcements about the pro lineup and the new hosts are expected in the coming months.
