Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026
The first edition of The Eurovision Contest Asia is to air in November, it has been announced.
The international music competition has been held annually since 1956 and features countries from Europe, the Middle East and Australia.
A US edition, featuring competitors from the 50 US states and additional territories, ran once in 2022 and now a specific edition for the Asian continent has been announced.
So far 10 countries have confirmed that they will participate – Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam – while Australia has confirmed that it will continue to compete in the main Eurovision.
“As we mark the 70th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest, it feels especially meaningful to open this next chapter with Asia, a region rich in culture, creativity and talent,” said Martin Green, director of the Eurovision Song Contest.
“This is about evolving Eurovision together with Asia, building something that reflects the voices, identities and ambitions of the region, while staying true to what has always made the Contest special.
“Eurovision Song Contest Asia will be shaped by the artists, broadcasters and audiences who make it their own, continuing our shared journey of being United by Music.”
The final will be held in Thai capital Bangkok on November 14.
