Christopher Fairbank as Eddie Knight on EastEnders / BBC
Christopher Fairbank is to reprise his role as Eddie Knight on EastEnders later this year, it has emerged.
The veteran actor made his debut as Eddie – the vile adoptive father of George (Colin Salmon) – in 2024 for a storyline that saw George learn shocking truths about his childhood.
Having unlocked repressed memories, George realised that as a child he witnessed his biological father beaten to death by Eddie and his mates in a racist attack.
Eddie was subsequently locked up for murder, but The Sun says that he will soon be back for a brief run as part of a major new storyline.
A source said: “Christopher Fairbank is returning as part of a new storyline that will see George Knight at the heart of the drama.
“Whilst it’s only a short stint, his return kicks off a bigger storyline that will spark troubling times for George and the wider Knight family.”
A spokeswoman for the soap said: “We can confirm Christopher Fairbank will be returning to EastEnders for a short stint later this spring.”
George recently became a father for the fourth time as girlfriend Nicola (Laura Doddington) gave birth to baby girl Ivy.
