Former England striker Peter Crouch is reportedly a target for this year’s edition of The Celebrity Traitors.
The ratings monster is returning for a new series to BBC One later this year, with filming due to take place in the Scottish Highlands next month.
The celebrity lineup is currently being finalised by producers and, according to The Sun, Crouch, 45 – now a commentator and podcaster – could be among them.
A source said: “Producers think Peter would be brilliant. He’s sporty, competitive and really funny.
“They know landing him would be a big coup and bring a new type of viewer to the series.
“Plus they haven’t had an ex pro footballer on the show yet.”
Other names linked with the show include Richard E Grant, University Challenge host Amol Rajan, Danny Dyer, Michael Sheen, Amanda Holden and Alison Hammond.
