Brooke Vincent for Hollyoaks / Lime Pictures
Former Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent has announced that she has joined the cast of Hollyoaks for a “powerful” new storyline.
The 33-year-old played the role of Sophie Webster on the cobbles from 2004 until 2019, when she went on maternity leave.
Vincent failed to return after her maternity leave, however, as Corrie seemingly have no immediate plans for her – or her on-screen sister, Helen Flanagan, who plays Rosie – to return.
Details of Vincent’s role have yet to be confirmed by Hollyoaks, although the show’s official account shared her announcement.
She wrote: “So excited to be joining the cast of Hollyoaks for such a powerful storyline!! I am so grateful for this opportunity to be back on screen playing a brand new character plus my family will be happy I’m back in a full time job Haha.”
Sally Dynevor, who plays her on-screen mum Sally on Corrie, wrote: “Oh Brooke congratulations, you will be absolutely fantastic as you were in Corrie. Can’t wait to watch you xxx”
Sue Devaney added: “Love this our Brooke! You’ll be fabulous as ever! Love yer Auntie Debbie”
Speaking to The Sun, a Hollyoaks source said: “Brooke is an amazing signing for the soap.
“She’s a great actress and she’s got a huge storyline coming – one that will surprise people. It’s going to be really, really exciting as it all plays out.”
