Richard Arnold for Good Morning Britain / ITV
Veteran showbiz correspondent Richard Arnold has reportedly been assured that he is safe from upcoming redundancies on Good Morning Britain.
As part of a shakeup of ITV’s daytime output coming into effect in 2026, shows including Lorraine and Loose Women are being scaled back in order to cut costs.
Even though GMB is extending its runtime by half an hour to 9.30am, the programme’s budget is being reduced and some members of the presenting lineup are expected to depart.
According to The Sun, Arnold will not be among those leaving and the members of his team – known internally as ‘RAP’ – are also safe.
“Richard is one of ITV daytime’s best-loved faces never mind on GMB,” a source told the newspaper.
“Viewers enjoy his slots and he remains very much part of the furniture.”
Overall, the cuts across ITV daytime are expected to save the broadcaster around £50 million a year.
