Lacey Turner for Strictly Come Dancing 2026 / BBC
Former EastEnders star Lacey Turner has been announced as the first celebrity contestant on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The new series is three months away from starting but the BBC is already revealing the lineup ahead of a huge revamp for the show, with new hosts, new dancers and a new set.
Turner, 38, has played the part of Stacey Slater on the soap since 2004 but left the role last year in a storyline that saw Stacey move to Brazil to live with brother Sean.
“I am so excited to being making my way to the dance floor this year to be a part of Strictly Come Dancing!” she said.
“I am a huge fan and can’t quite believe I will be taking part and not watching at home this year! I look forward to meeting everyone and learning a new skill!”
More names in the lineup will be revealed over the course of the Summer.
