Penelope Keith / BBC
The BBC has scheduled in a night of special programmes to pay tribute to Dame Penelope Keith following her death earlier this week.
The much-loved British actress died at the age of 86 on Monday, her family said, while revealing that she had been “living with cancer”.
The night of programming on BBC Four will take place on Tuesday, July 14, beginning at 8pm with a short film she recorded in 2024 looking back at To The Manor Born.
That will be followed at 8.15pm by series one, episode six of the show, with a storyline that centres around an advert being filmed at the manor.
At 8.45pm the channel will show series two, episode one of The Good Life, then at 9.15pm the night concludes with a rerun of the 1984 TV play of Noel Coward’s Hay Fever, which also stars Paul Eddington, Patricia Hodge and Joan Sims.
