Kate Winslet has reportedly agreed to star in the follow-up to Netflix’s highly-acclaimed drama Adolescence.
Each episode of the show was shot entirely in one continuous take and followed a family dealing with the accusation that their teen son had murdered his female classmate.
Starring and executive produced by British acting legend Stephen Graham, Adolescence cleaned up at this year’s award ceremonies on both sides of the Atlantic and made a global star out of young actor Owen Cooper.
Graham has previously hinted that a new standalone series could be in the works and according to the Daily Mail, Oscar winner Winslet is already on board as the lead star.
“It’s happening and in development,” the newspaper quotes a source as saying. “There’s excitement that Kate’s on board.”
Speaking to press in January, Graham suggested that the follow-up could be three to four years away from release.
