Robert Irwin and Julia Morris for I'm A Celebriity... Get Me Out Of Here! Australia / Network 10
The Australian version of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has been rescued by Channel Seven, months after being axed by Network 10.
The show, which follows a similar format to the UK original, ran for 10 series from 2015 until earlier this year, when 10 said it had decided to “rest” the programme.
Now Seven has confirmed that it has picked up the Aussie rights and will broadcast a new series from 2027.
“I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is one of the world’s most recognisable entertainment formats and we’re incredibly excited to welcome it to Seven in 2027,” said Angus Ross, MD of TV at Southern Cross Media Group.
“This is a proven franchise with a passionate fan base and we look forward to bringing our own fresh energy and ambition to its next chapter.”
David Mott, CEO at ITV Studios Australia, added: “We are absolutely thrilled to partner with the Seven Network to unleash the next massive evolution of I’m A Celebrity… in 2027.
“For over ten years, Australian audiences have loved this iconic show, and with terrifying trials, hilarious camp drama and heartfelt celebrity revelations, ITV Studios Australia is ready to deliver a brand-new era for the Jungle.”
The show was most recently hosted by Robert Irwin and Julia Morris, although Seven has yet to make any announcement about whether they will return for the new installment.
