Smoggie Queens S2 / BBC
Middlesbrough-based LGBT comedy Smoggie Queens will return for a third series on BBC Three, it has been announced.
The show – created, written by and starring Phil Dunning – follows a gang of friends in Boro as they navigate life in their slice of the community.
“The fact that Smoggie Queens is returning for a third series is testament to the brilliance of Phil Dunning and the entire creative team behind it,” said Gregor Sharp, commissioning editor at the BBC.
“The show has carved out a unique place in British comedy with its unforgettable characters, razor-sharp humour and huge heart. The show continues to celebrate the people and spirit of Teesside with warmth, wit and authenticity, and we can’t wait to see what chaos the Smoggie Queens get themselves into next.”
The new series is expected for release at some point in 2027.
