Lee Mack for The 1% Club / ITV
ITV has announced that The 1% Club will be stripped across a week later this year in a new twist on the format.
The popular gameshow – hosted by Lee Mack – features 100 contestants answering progressively more difficult questions, culminating with a question that only 1% of the British public could get right.
The week-long event, The 1% Club Rollover, will see the prize pot roll over each episode if it is not won – meaning that a potential top prize pot of £500,000 could be in play by the Friday.
Furthermore, any contestants that reach the 1% stage automatically come back in the next episode – including winners, who then get the chance to win again.
“The 1% Club Rollover as event TV is a perfect fit,” said Sue Murphy, head of factual entertainment at ITV. “The series continues to go from strength to strength and has become a must watch in homes across the country on Saturday nights.
“This special Rollover week will really be a primetime event that will have the nation hooked. Five nights of The 1% Club and Lee Mack… What’s not to like?”
Applications for the show remain open online, with a new series of the regular edition due to be filmed later this year.
