Chris Rock has reportedly decided not to press charges against Will Smith after their shocking clash at the Oscars last night.
In a moment that left the audience stunned, Smith stormed onto the stage while Rock was presenting an award and slapped him in the face following a joke he made about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
Smith then returned to his seat and shouted “keep my wife’s name out your fucking mouth” as a visibly shaken Rock attempted to carry on.
A statement from the Los Angeles Police Department read: “Our investigative entities are aware of an incident between two individuals during the Academy Awards program. The incident involved one individual slapping another.
“The individual involved has declined to file a police report. If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report.”
Following the incident Smith went on to win the Best Actor award for his role in King Richard.
