Ant and Dec for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! / ITV
ITV is reportedly in talks about signing a five-year deal to keep filming I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in its usual Aussie location.
The show has been based near Springbrook National Park in New South Wales since its second series in 2003 and will return there for this year’s edition in November.
The current three-year agreement to film there expires this year but according to The Sun, ITV is now looking at a longer-term, five-year continuation deal that will run until 2030.
“The production team are planning five years in advance, which is a long-term approach they haven’t adopted before,” a source told the newspaper.
“But this is not a done deal with the local authorities and the negotiations have just started with officials to secure the site.
“They’re not taking anything for granted but are hopeful all parties involved will be able to reach some kind of agreement.”
Although the majority of the show has been based in Australia, two series in 2020 and 2021 were instead filmed in Gwyrych Castle in North Wales due to coronavirus, while the All Stars spinoff is filmed in South Africa.
