Cheryl has joined the panel of The Voice as a replacement for the departing Sir Tom Jones, ITV has confirmed.
The news of the full lineup for the 2027 edition of the singing competition was announced as filming of the blind auditions got underway today in Manchester, a full year before the show is due to be broadcast.
Earlier this week it was confirmed that Sir Tom, 86, had been axed from the coaching lineup after 14 years – a decision that he admitted he was “not thrilled” with.
As expected, Aitch joins the lineup to replace coaching duo Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones, who had previously announced their decision to leave.
Cheryl and Aitch are joined by ever-present coach will.i.am, as well as Kelly Rowland, who is returning for her second series.
Meanwhile, with Emma Willis having left to host Strictly Come Dancing for the BBC, Stacey Solomon and Alesha Dixon have been confirmed as the show’s new presenting duo.
In a statement, ITV said: “Fusing legendary industry experience with a vibrant competitive spirit, our latest panel of icons is ready to discover and celebrate the most remarkable and exciting vocal talent emerging from every corner of the country.
“ITV would like to thank the irreplaceable Sir Tom Jones for all his years on The Voice UK, and the countless incredible and unforgettable moments he gave the show. He has brought joy to audiences, and to every singer who performed for him and with him.
“We also thank Emma Willis, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones for their brilliant contributions, and who all brought so much dedication, expertise and energy to The Voice UK and wish them the very best of luck as they embark on their next chapters.”
This year’s series continues Saturday at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
