Claudia Winkleman “extremely lucky” to host The Traitors

Claudia Winkleman has admitted that she feels fortunate to be the host of The Traitors and spinoff The Celebrity Traitors.

The presenter, who stepped down from Strictly Come Dancing duties last year, has fronted the UK version since it began in 2022 and is about to return to screens with a second series of the celeb edition.

“It’s a privilege to be able to watch people play the game,” she said, adding: “I feel extremely lucky I’m part of this show.”

Talking about this year’s cast, which includes Michael Sheen, Jerry Hall and Richard E Grant, she continued: “I couldn’t get over it. My bosses had to repeat the names at least three times. We’re so lucky they said yes.

“Everyone taking part is fantastic. We are honoured they wanted to play the game.”

The Celebrity Traitors returns at 8pm on Thursday, October 1 on BBC One and iPlayer.
