Sky History2 channel rebrands as MysteryX

Sky History2 is to rebrand as MysteryX, a channel dedicated to unexplained phenomena.

The spinoff station from Sky History – a joint-venture between Sky and Hearst Networks – launched in May 2013 as H2, itself a rebrand of the old Military History channel.

For some time Sky History 2’s schedule has featured a significant number of alien and conspiracy-themed programming and now the channel will make it official by fully focussing around the theme of natural world mysteries.

MysteryX will launch next Tuesday, September 29 with a lineup of shows including Paranormal: Caught On Camera, Craig Charles: UFO Conspiracies, Secrets Declassified with David Duchovny and 102 Minutes Inside The Towers.

Explaining the change, Hearst said: “Mystery is already a strong-performing genre across Hearst Networks’ portfolio, with audiences drawn to stories that explore the unexplained, the extraordinary and the unknown.

“By evolving Sky HISTORY 2 into MysteryX, Hearst Networks is bringing together a rich mix of existing and new programming under one recognisable brand, creating a dedicated home for mystery fans across linear and streaming.”

MysteryX will be available on Sky satellite channel 163 in GB, Sky satellite channel 168 in Northern Ireland and Ireland, Virgin Media channel 186, Sky Stream/Glass channel 143 in the UK and Sky Stream/Glass channel 139 in Ireland.
