Big Brother: Chelsey – The post-eviction interview in full

Chelsey Ammari became the second housemate to leave the Big Brother house on Friday evening.

The 29-year-old was evicted over Pauline at the end of Double Trouble week – a week that saw her engage in high-profile rows with Jedward, Johanne and even close friend Lynx.

Scroll on to hear what Chelsey had to say after she sat down with hosts Will Best and AJ Odudu moments after she left the house.

AJ: “I know that you were worried about the reception that you might get. You were worried about the boos. You certainly made a big impression. As a housemate, you’ve certainly not been boring! How are you feeling now that you’ve had, like, one minute?”

Chelsey: “I feel a lot better now. I was really scared when I came out!”

Will: “We saw you say that Pauline doesn’t get involved in the drama in the way that you do. Do you think maybe that’s why you’re sitting here and why you got that reaction? Because you just love the drama?”

Chelsey: “The drama just seems to find me.”

AJ: “You’ve got nothing to do with the drama. It just follows you around.”

Chelsey: “No, I came in and I was like, ‘right, I’m not going to get involved in any drama’, but obviously that didn’t happen.” Yeah, yeah. Joanne just made it very clear that she, like, hates me.”

AJ: “Well, listen, we’ll get onto that a little bit later. But now that you’re out, you can talk freely about nominations without fear of any rule breaks. So we can reveal that you actually received five nominations. Any idea who they might be from?”

Chelsey: “Johanne and Pauline. Maybe Rob. Harry. Sam? I don’t know.”

Will: “Did you think you’d have that many? Did you think you’d have more or less?”

Chelsey: “No, I had a feeling that I was probably going to be up for nomination. I just had a feeling.”

(Chelsey watches her nominations – all of her guesses are correct)

Will: “So what are your thoughts on that?”

Chelsey: “I mean, the friendship group thing’s been coming up a lot about me, Lynx, Omar and Rhianna, but I just think there’s people that you’re a lot closer to than others.”

AJ: “Well, what do you make of Johanna’s comments?”

Chelsey: “It doesn’t surprise me. She makes it very clear that she hates me. She called me and Rhianna the cancer of the house. She gets really, really nasty with people. Like, I woke up this morning and she was like, ‘It’s coronation day! It’s coronation day! The right decision is going to be made!’ And then she’s just said a lot of horrible things to close people in there to me. She’s made lots of comments. Lots of comments.”

AJ: “Let’s talk about that friendship group – did you ever think the fact that you, Rihanna, Omar and Lynx forming a group so quickly would be held against you?”

Chelsey: “No, but there’s been a lot of comments throughout. I have so much love for them. I have so much love for them. But I just think, like I’ve said, there’s some people that you get on with a lot more than others, and there’s some people in there that I’m not that close to. Like, Pauline has said I’m standoffish. I’ve tried to make a lot of effort with her and I don’t feel like it’s reciprocated.”

Will: “Well, one person you got on with very well was obviously Lynx. So we’ve got to talk about Lynx. You two hit it off from night one. What was it that drew you initially to Lynx? Besides the obvious—he’s a very, very handsome man.”

Chelsey: “He’s very, very handsome. He is such a lovely guy. He’s so, so nice, and he’s been an amazing friend to me in there. He’s really lovely and obviously loves the gym, so we were working out together. Yeah, he’s a really nice guy. I wasn’t expecting that. One of my close friends was like, ‘There might be, like, a really handsome guy,’ and then I was like, ‘No, no, I’m not going in there for, like, a showmance or anything like that,’ and it kind of just happened.”

AJ: “You know, from the outside, at times, it seemed like you didn’t like him being friends with other people, but there were also times that you were quite critical of him behind his back. Why did you behave like that?”

Chelsey:“Anything I’ve said behind his back, I’ve said to his face.”

AJ: “Yeah, after you said it behind his back!”

Chelsey: “Yeah. But I’ve said it to his face. I just feel like he’s very close with me when he’s kissing me and stuff like that, and then comments that Joanna’s made, not just towards me, towards Omar as well… And then he was laughing and joking on the floor with her, which I just thought was a bit rude. So I brought that up to him.”

Will: “Let’s talk Jedward.”

Chelsey: “Oh no! I never thought I was going to have beef with Jedward.”

Will: “They gave you some constructive criticism in the house. Why did you take it so seriously?”

Chelsey: “I’m sorry, guys. I didn’t think I was going to have beef with Jedward. It just happened. I didn’t ask for any of it. They were going to me ‘It’s not Love Island.’ I know it’s not Love Island! It just happened.”

AJ: “The thing is, obviously Rhianna came to you as her mate, and she said, ‘The boys have upset me,’ and the first thing you said was, ‘Don’t be upset by them,’ and you walked outside and got upset by them.”

Chelsey: “Yeah, because when I sat down, I just wanted to have a conversation with them, and then they just started being like, ‘This isn’t Love Island. You’re in a clique.’”

AJ: “Some viewers did seem to think that you riled Lynx up, pushing him into a row with Jedward.”

Chelsey: “No, that’s not what happened. I think he saw that me and Rhianna was upset, and I think he went to speak to them. And then I wasn’t outside for that bit, in terms of the hot tub. No, I didn’t say to him, ‘Can you go and speak to Jedward?’ He just saw that we was upset, and then he went and spoke to them.”

Will: “He went out on a ten. That’s how it looks from the outside.”

Chelsey: “That wasn’t my fault, though!”

Will: “Well, somebody that did always seem to have your back and that you never had a bad word to say about was your mate Rhianna. You two were really close. You didn’t expect to go in there and find somebody that you had a romantic attachment with, but did you expect to go in there and find somebody to be as good a mate with as Rhianna was?”

Chelsey: “I thought I’d make close friends, but no. I have a lot of love for her. I don’t think I could have got through that without her.”

AJ: “Who do you think she’s going to gravitate to now that you’ve left the Big Brother house?”

Chelsey: “Well, she’s got Omar and Lynx.”

Will: “Do you think the group might open up a bit now that you’re not there? Would you like to see the three of them become more integrated with the rest of the house? Even with Johanne?”

Chelsey: “Do you know what? You will see more of Johanne. No, she’s a nasty, nasty woman, but you’ll see. I don’t think everyone’s seen everything. You only see, like, a short amount of time… when it’s 24 hours with her, it’s horrible.”

Will: “Now that you’re out, who do you want to win?”

Chelsey: “Philip!”
