Dennis Haskins, known for playing the hapless Principal Belding on Saved By The Bell, has died at the age of 75.
The actor began playing the part in 1987 in Good Morning, Miss Bliss, a show which was then reworked as Saved By The Bell – and he continued with the role through the 1990s, including in spinoff The New Class, as well as tongue-in-cheek appearances in various projects as recently as 2015.
Haskins had been suffering from Parkinson’s Disease for the last eight years but his cause of death is currently unknown.
Jay Schachter, Haskins’s agent, told TMZ: “It’s a tragic loss. Everyone loved Mr. Belding and those of us who got to know Dennis, loved him even more.
“He was a great person, and he loved, I mean absolutely LOVED his fans. He always had time for them, no matter what. He was my client and dear friend for over 20 years, and I will miss him terribly.”
Haskins is survived by son Dustin.
