Clara Satchell-Silva has become the sixth baker to be eliminated from this year’s The Great British Bake Off.
The 24-year-old, a marketing graduate from Hertfordshire, saw her time in the competition come to an end after the annual Pastry Week.
The Signature involved handheld savoury pies, the Technical challenged them to make Polish choux desserts and for the Showstopper they had to create an eye-catching decorative pie.
Tom Whittaker was named Star Baker for an impressive third time out of six challenges, after which it was confirmed that Clara would be the one to leave.
“I had a blast, love you guys,” she said afterwards. “This experience – it’s not only that you are learning about baking, but you are learning a lot about you. I never thought I could do this with my disorder, and I am really proud that I did that and hopefully I can be an inspiration for other people.”
She went on to admit: “I absolutely knew I was leaving, I was the only one that really struggled that week, things were happening that never happened during practice and I just had a feeling it was meant to be.
“I was very accepting of it because I thought ‘wow what a blast I had, being sad for leaving is not appreciating how much I made myself proud’. After leaving the tent we were all super close still so it was like I never left!”
The Great British Bake Off continues next Tuesday at 8pm with Free-From Week.
