Bradley Walsh and Alex Jones / BBC
Bradley Walsh and Alex Jones are reportedly the two frontrunners to take over as hosts of Strictly Come Dancing from 2026.
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman recently announced that the current series will be their last, leaving the BBC in the hunt for new faces to helm one of the most popular shows on TV.
Walsh, 65, would be considered a safe pair of hands and counts The Chase, Blankety Blank and Gladiators among his current projects, while Jones, 48, has helmed The One Show for more than 15 years.
A source told The Sun: “Alex and Bradley are both the favourites to take over from Tess and Claudia. They have been in the BBC’s sights for some time as Tess and Claudia’s exit plan has been known for a while.
“Bradley and Alex are both seen as accomplished broadcasters. He brings the wisecracks and Alex is the calm head who knows how to handle live situations after 15 years of co-hosting The One Show.
“Alex is a massive fan of Strictly too so this would be the dream gig for her. Nothing is set in stone yet but the discussions are moving in a really positive direction.”
The BBC has yet to reveal a timeline for naming the new presenters, although an announcement is not likely until early 2026.
