Coronation Street star Vicky Myers has given her take on the situation between her character Lisa and her wife Becky (Amy Cudden).
For years Lisa believed that Becky had been killed in the line of duty, only for her to reappear in September claiming that she had been living in a protection scheme in Spain for her safety.
Viewers are aware that there is more to the story than meets the eye, however, as Becky’s involvement in a corruption scandal runs deep – and there have been glimpses of her true ruthless – potentially murderous – nature in recent weeks.
“[Lisa has] no idea,” said Myers. “She lived with this person for 20 years, they’ve had a child together and they have grown up together, worked together.
“She knows that there is corruption in the police force, but no, no chance she thinks Becky is dangerous, it would never enter her head. There might be question marks raised over Becky’s story, but… Lisa would be veering down that route in regards to Costello and whoever gave the order from above, because Lisa still believes that the order came from above.
“Then when Becky’s going out to meet people, Lisa can’t be involved in that because she believes this is covert and undercover.”
Speaking about Cudden’s portrayal of Becky, she added: “Credit to Amy, she’s playing a fantastic villain with such subtlety and nuances and she’s a brilliant wind up merchant.
“She’s a great character to play but everyone loves it when the villain gets their comeuppance so let’s hope that is the case.”
