5 daytime in 2026
5 has unveiled a new daytime lineup for next year that will see Vanessa Feltz’s show move from lunchtime into the afternoon.
The programme, Vanessa, launched on the channel in March and was positioned against ITV’s Loose Women in the schedules at 12.30pm.
When the show returns in January, however, it will air from 2pm to 3pm and will be “revamped” to be more “viewer-focused”.
Jeremy Vine will continue between 9.15am and 11.30am, while Alexis Conran will join Storm Huntley as co-presenter of her show, which will be relaunched as Storm & Alexis, airing between 11.30am and 12.45pm.
Matt Alwright is joining the broadcaster with his own self-titled programme, airing Monday to Thursday from 12.50pm to 2pm – and as a result, Home & Away will lose its slot on the main 5 channel, instead switching to streaming and a nightly slot on 5Star.
Federico Ruiz, commissioning editor at 5, said: “We are thrilled at next year’s daytime lineup on 5. We’ve put together a presenting family that our viewers love, and we’re excited to give them more of what they want.
“Where others are cutting back their daytime offerings, we are ramping up. There is no substitute for live TV, and our viewers can now stay with the 5 family from their morning tea, through lunch, to school pick up – where they’ll be by far the most informed people at the gates.”
The new schedule begins on Monday, January 5.
