Piers Morgan 2022 press shot
5 has announced a new agreement with Piers Morgan for continued linear broadcast of his Uncensored show until at least the end of 2026.
The debate and interview show first aired on TalkTV before moving to YouTube, where it has become an unbridled success with over 1 billion views of content to date.
5 has aired a weekly customised 90-minute ‘best bits’ version of the programme in the post-pub slot on Friday nights, where it has managed a reach of 4.4 million viewers since launch in September.
“I’m delighted to continue working with 5 through 2026,” said Morgan. “It’s been a unique collaboration between our hugely successful global YouTube show Piers Morgan Uncensored and a fast-growing, ambitious UK TV network, and I am thrilled it’s proven so popular with 5 viewers that they want to extend our relationship for another year.”
Federico Ruiz, commissioning editor at 5, added: “Once we got Piers on the channel, we weren’t going to let him go without a fight. Now more than ever we need his unique brand of fearless, no-nonsense journalism – and everything that comes with it.
“One more year of Piers… we’re ready! We think…”
The news comes after Morgan’s recent announcement of the brand’s first spinoff, History Uncensored, hosted by ex-CNN anchor Bianca Nobilo.
