Former soap stars Jill Halfpenny and Sally Lindsay have teamed up for a new 5 drama thriller, Number One Fan.
The show stars ex-EastEnders actress Halfpenny as Lucy, a much-loved presenter of the morning TV show Lucy Live, whose bubbly onscreen persona belies her ruthless side.
Lindsay – Shelley Unwin in Coronation Street – plays Donna, Lucy’s so-called “number one fan” who rescues her from an attack and becomes dangerously obsessed, infiltrating Lucy’s colleagues, friends and family.
Executive producer Mike Benson said: “We’ve obviously worked numerous times with two of the most talented actresses in the country in Sally and Jill – but never before in the same show.
“Seeing them both together on screen – and in two very surprising roles – is something I know viewers will be every bit as excited about as we are.”
Filming of the four-part drama has concluded in Spain ahead of a planned broadcast on 5 later this year.
