Lord Sugar for The Apprentice S20 / BBC
Lord Sugar has revealed that he has signed up for at least three more series of The Apprentice following the landmark 20th series.
The business-based reality show returns to screens on Thursday for the anniversary edition, some 21 years after it made its debut.
Sugar has previously indicated that he may step down once he had made it to 20 series, but now he has told press that he has signed up for the next three series.
“Part of the contract is the BBC has got to provide me with an electronic Zimmer frame!” he said, in quotes reported by The Mirror.
“I mean, three years takes me to about 82 I suppose, the time I’m finished, but I’ll carry on as long as the BBC want me to and I will know personally when it’s time for me to kind of hang up my finger, if you know what I mean. As the footballers say, they hang up their boots, hang up my finger or something. I’m happy about it. I’m a very fit person.”
The Apprentice returns Thursday at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
