ITV has penned a new deal with PREM Rugby for continued coverage of top-flight rugby union.
The broadcaster first began showing matches from the league in 2022 – and the extension of the current deal will run to the end of 2027-28 with seven games a season, including the final, being shown live for free.
Niall Sloane, ITV’s director of sport, said: “The Gallagher PREM serves up world-class rugby and the extension of our current deal means ITV continues to deliver free-to-air rugby for audiences in the UK, adding to our already expanding rugby portfolio.”
Ollie Lewis, PREM Rugby’s head of broadcast, added: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with ITV, which is now into its fifth year.
“Giving fans of Gallagher PREM Rugby free-to-air access across the season, alongside the Six Nations, is the perfect blend to showcase the stars of our league to wider audiences.”
TNT Sports holds the pay-TV rights to PREM Rugby, which sees it broadcast all 93 games live every season.
