George and Christina on Coronation Street on August 29, 2025 / ITV
Amy Robbins has reportedly been upgraded to the regular cast on Coronation Street.
The actress first appeared as Christina Boyd, the wayward mother of Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), in January 2023 and has recurred on and off in guest stints.
Christina most recently returned to the cobbles in August – despite the departure of her daughter earlier this year – and has since struck up a relationship with undertaker George (Tony Maudsley).
According to The Sun, her comeback will now be a permanent one after Robbins signed a deal to become a series regular.
“Amy is classic Corrie,” a source told the newspaper. “She has really impressed bosses with Christina and how she’s slotted into the cobbles effortlessly.
“It was a no-brainer to offer her a new contract and snap her up properly.
“Christina is shaping up to be one of Corrie’s classic women and there’s lots of things to come in the future as she and George get loved up. And there’s enough people for her to spar with on the cobbles when she feels the need.”
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7am on ITVX and at 8pm on ITV1.
