Jodie Prenger as Glenda Shuttleworth on Coronation Street / ITV
Jodie Prenger has revealed that she has signed a new one-year deal to remain on Coronation Street as Glenda Shuttleworth.
The actress joined the soap in 2022 in the role of Glenda, the sister of undertaker George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), and quickly became a fan favourite.
Now Prenger has revealed that she has penned a new contract keeping her on the cobbles until at least the four-year mark in summer 2026.
“I’ve just re-signed my contract! The poor things have got stuck with me for another year!” she told Bella magazine, in quotes reported by The Sun.
“I’m thrilled. I love it there. I used to always say to my agent, ‘Would you ask if I can be on Corrie?’.”
She added: “I was that crazy person outside, pitched in a tent, wanting to get in – and now I’m in!”
Prenger’s new deal comes weeks after her on-screen brother Maudsley also signed a new one-year deal with the soap.
