Sam Robertson as Adam Barlow on Coronation Street / ITV
Sam Robertson has reportedly signed a new deal keeping him as Adam Barlow on Coronation Street for at least another year.
The actor took over the role of Adam – grandson of Street stalwart Ken (Bill Roache) – in 2004, staying on the cobbles for three years before reprising the role permanently in 2016.
Adam has not been seen on screen since an episode broadcast on March 7, sparking fears that he could quit, but The Sun says that he has now penned a new contract extension running until November 2026.
The reason for Robertson’s extended on-screen absence remains unclear, however, and furthermore he is not due to appear in at least the next three weeks’ worth of episodes.
News of his new contract follows swiftly on from that of co-stars Jodie Prenger (Glenda), Tony Maudsley (George), Harriet Bibby (Summer) and Channique Sterling-Brown (Dee-Dee).
