Nugget and Priya on EastEnders on January 12, 2026 / BBC
EastEnders has kicked off a new storyline that will see Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) develop epilepsy.
Last month the youngster was hospitalised in a serious condition after being savagely attacked by his own father Ravi (Aaron Thiara), who was unaware of his own actions after being spiked.
In Monday’s episode, Nugget experienced his first seizure after multiple spells of confusion and disorientation – and after now being diagnosed, the plot will follow the teen as he struggles to come to terms with his new condition.
Exec producer Ben Wadey said: “We are committed to portraying Nugget’s journey authentically and with sensitivity, so have sought advice from Epilepsy Society to ensure an accurate representation of the challenges a young person may face following their diagnosis.”
EastEnders streams Mondays to Thursdays from 6am on iPlayer and airs at 7.30pm on BBC One.
