British Soap Awards 2025 / ITV
ITV has confirmed that the British Soap Awards will not take place again this year.
The ceremony was held annually from 1999 until 2019 but was cancelled in 2020 and again in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2022 and 2023 awards took place as expected, but ITV opted to rest it in 2024 before bringing it back again this year.
Now, according to the Radio Times, the decision has been taken to drop the glitzy ceremony once again for reasons unknown.
A spokesperson told the publication: “The British Soap Awards is taking a break and won’t be on air in 2026.”
The move comes despite ITV relaunching its flagship soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale last month with a new “power hour” scheduling patten and a Corriedale crossover special.
