Molly Rainford as Anna Knight in EastEnders / BBC
Molly Rainford is to leave her role as Anna Knight on EastEnders after two years, it has been revealed.
The character – daughter of George (Colin Salmon) – made her debut in June 2023 as the Knight family descended on Walford and took over the Queen Vic.
New boss Ben Wadey has already axed Bernie (Clair Norris) and Felix (Matthew Morrison), while Bobby Brazier is also to leave his role as Freddie Slater, and now Rainford is also set for the exit.
A source told The Sun: “Molly came into the show two years ago, and in that time has been trusted with some great storylines.
“It’s just so happened that when Molly was considering other options in her career, a meeting was held to discuss the future of the character, and both parties were in mutual agreement that it was the right time for Anna Knight to wave goodbye to Walford.”
A BBC spokesperson confirmed: “We can confirm that Molly Rainford will be leaving EastEnders later this year, and we wish her all the best for the future.”
Details of how Anna will leave E20, including whether her exit will coincide with that of on-off love interest Freddie, are currently unknown.
