Kim on Emmerdale on July 22, 2025 / ITV
Emmerdale legend Claire King has signed a new deal to keep her in the iconic role of Kim Tate for at least another year.
The actress first played the role of the wealthy super-bitch from 1989 to 1999, reprising the role in 2018 and remaining a primary character ever since.
According to The Sun, she has now put pen to paper that will see her through a year in which Kim is due to be centre of a major new storyline.
“Bosses love Claire and they are delighted that she’s going nowhere,” a source told the newspaper.
“Kim Tate is one of the soap all time greats and it’s only right that she has a massive storyline.
“It’s going to delve into who Kim is and where she’s come from and see her rediscover that grit that made her Kim Tate.
“She’s going to stop at nothing to get what she wants – and make a few more enemies in the process as well as potentially changing the village forever.”
New episodes of Emmerdale play out weekdays from 7am on ITVX and at 7.30pm on ITV1.
