April and Dawn in Emmerdale / ITV
Olivia Bromley has shed more light on tomorrow’s special episode of Emmerdale which will draw parallels between her character Dawn’s past and the present reality for April (Amelia Flanagan).
In recent months viewers have seen the youngster come under the influence of drug-pusher Ray (Joe Absolom) and his boss/de-facto mother Celia (Jaye Griffiths).
In Friday’s episode April finds herself in danger as Ray takes things to the next level, arranging for her to sleep with a client for cash.
Meanwhile, Dawn will tell boyfriend Joe (Ned Porteous) about her own troubled past, explaining why she is so determined to protect her kids from similar dangers,
“This episode is really important because Dawn didn’t have a stable family or home life, which she explains to Joe in this episode, and you can really see how she got herself into such a difficult situation for so many years,” said Bromley.
“But what’s interesting with April is, she has such a wonderful family, and the world really is her oyster – she’s got a stable loving home, she’s at school and yet she’s still managed to go down this path.”
Emmerdale continues weekdays from 7am on ITVX and at 7.30pm on ITV1.
