Former Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden has joined the cast of Hollyoaks.
The actor played the part of David Metcalfe on the soap for 17 years, leaving the Dales in late 2023 after discovering that his son had been having an affair with his ex-fiancée.
Details of Wolfenden’s character on Hollyoaks are currently unknown, although The Sun reports that he will be a member of the regular cast.
“This an exciting new chapter for Matthew,” a source told the newspaper.
“He’s a big signing for Hollyoaks and is expected to be a hit with viewers.”
The Channel 4 soap has yet to comment on the reports.
