Georgia Jay has reportedly chosen not to reprise her role as Steph Miligan on Emmerdale following her maternity leave.
The actress joined the soap in November 2024 as Steph – daughter of Ruby (Beth Cordingly) – but made her on-screen exit last August as she prepared to give birth.
Steph, who took an extended break in Rome, was thought to be returning to the village some time this year but The Sun says that Jay has now changed her mind.
“Georgia loved her time at Emmerdale but she has no plans to return now,” a source told the newspaper. “She’s loving being a mum and that’s her focus for now.
“Obviously she’s open to opportunities but returning to a full-on soap schedule full-time is just not something she can do at the moment.”
The soap has yet to officially comment on the situation.
