Mack on Emmerdale on September 1, 2025 / ITV
Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb has admitted that he is relieved that viewers finally know that his character Mack is still alive after all.
In gruesome scenes which aired last month, a heavily-injured Mack was assumed to have been bludgeoned to death with a rock by villainous John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) after press reports suggested that Robb had already filmed his exit scenes.
At the conclusion of Friday night’s episode, however, Mack was revealed to be still alive and held captive in an underground bunker in the woods.
Speaking about the twist, Robb said that he is pleased to no longer have to keep the secret – but hinted that Mack could still yet die at the hands of John.
“I’m glad the secret that Mack isn’t quite dead (yet) is over,” he said. “I have felt slightly deceitful over the last two weeks when people have asked me about his death.
“Whilst I have enjoyed being somewhat of an enigma over that time, I’m really looking forward to seeing how the drama we shot is received on screen.
“Both Ollie and I really enjoyed shooting it, so hopefully the jeopardy of Mack’s position will keep the audience gripped!”
Emmerdale streams weekdays from 7am on ITVX and airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1.
