Netflix keen to make new series of 'Little Britain'?

Netflix reportedly hope to convince Matt Lucas and David Walliams to make a new series of Little Britain.

Netflix are reportedly attempting to convince Matt Lucas and David Walliams to reunite for a new series of Little Britain.

The sketch show, which sees Lucas and Walliams play a variety of characters, started life as a radio show before transitioning to TV, where it was a runaway ratings success for the BBC.

The comedians have previously expressed reluctance to return to the show due to criticism of its perceived stereotypes, but the pair reunited for the first time in years for a one-off revival on Radio 4 last year.

According to The Sun, Netflix have set up phone meetings with the duo in the hopes of convincing them to do a new series and have promised them "more leeway on controversial characters".

A source told the newspaper: "Netflix have set up phone meetings next week with David and Matt. The offer they are making is more than double the BBC could make. It'd be a package of well over a million each.

"David and Matt don't need the cash but bosses at Netflix know they are a more viable option for the brand."

At its peak in 2005 Little Britain managed more than 10 million viewers for the BBC.
